    He is sleeping through everything. He probably slept through the Asian Currency Crisis, The bubble economy asset burst, the .com crash and the sub-prime crisis. Some finance minister. This is why japan is going down economically and financially. Malaise forever.

    No surprise the economy is in the crapper and being flushed down quickly.

    why do the chairs look like toasted bread?

    All the velour (velvet?) has worn off the backs from people sitting in them.

    And I really have to question whether this was a meeting in progress or not. Politicians often doze off in session but that it usually during the boring parliamentary procedural bits.
