Rosario Dawson, 29, laughs as Will Smith, 40, poses in front of a poster for their movie “7 Pounds” (titled “7 Gifts” for release in Japan) in Tokyo on Monday. Smith joked that he’s been to Japan so often in the last year that he should be offered Japanese citizenship. Surprisingly, the press conference attracted the least number of journalists for any Hollywood star in the past 12 months, but Smith was in great form, perplexing his interpreter with his rapid-fire humor and sound effects. “7 Pounds” opens in Japan on Feb 21.

Here's another one. This film was released in ESTONIA a month ago. You'll be able to see it in Kazakhstan before you can in Japan.

Why is everything so slow to be released here? Mind, if interpreters get "perplexed", that might explain something. Just hire better, more efficient translators for the subtitles. And stop changing titles for no reason.

Will Smith, one of the biggest hacks going with an ego to match. Makes bubblegum movies popular with soccermoms due to the fact that he's a non-threatening black man that they feel keep them hip somehow.

gamera- W Smith mentioned on an interview with barbara walters a few years back saying aids was created by the government to kill minorities or soemthing asanine like that. Nobody said squat.

As a side note, I saw the first half the movie, then read the rest on a spoiler website somewhere. The surprise ending kind is ruined up by the japanese title, in my opinion, as it is a slow building mystery that drops clues and is explained in the end. Do they think that the japanese won't be able to figure out clues and such, so they have to tell them the punchline before they go into the movie? Or am I reading too much into this?

A better title than the original "7 Pounds" - after all, isn't the movie about Smith changing the lives of 7 people for the better?

my favourite will smith films are "hitch" and "the pursuit of happyness". least favourite "ali" and "independence day". people are tabbin'him to play obama in the movie but, i don't think he's suitable. i like the guy and his energy/accessibility.

Oh man!! Rosario Dawson! MMMMMmmmmmmmmmmMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!! Did you guys see her in Alexander? The only reason I watched that movie, I swear. I really want to see another MIB or Bad Boys movie. Over the top action and hilarious antics. I personally don't believe that he is over rated. I have been watching the guy since The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

I don't know about "better", but certainly more appropriate for the Japanese market, which is less likely to know about Shakespeare and the pound of flesh, which is what the English title refers to, I believe.

I haven't seen the film, but I know the way the story goes and it sounds like Will Smith has made one of the most sanctimonious and self-righteous movies in history. I won't be bothering with this.
