I wonder what Abe thinks when he sees folks lined up outside like this, protesting against him and his policies. I'll bet he is fantasizing about calling out the gestapo and running these folks out of town.

Does he ever even see them?

Abe and his right wing extremists are a remnant of Imperial Japan, just dust off old playbook , with no qualms in sacrificing other people's lives like kamikaze pilots, so sacrificing his fellowmen to further his political agenda is not unexpected. The Japanese should not fall into his scheme!

Much more of this and Abe will get an attack of his, ahem, "tummy problems."

Go protesters!

Nice to see this. Need more.

At last ! It looks like the Japanese people are waking up ! Let's hope the "18 year olds" take note before the next election...

Let's just hope that the next one after Abe isn't just yet another puppet!

Resistance to vital changes, which PM Abe intends to bring about in the best interest of Japan through his policies , by the forces which want to maintain status quo, is somewhat natural. But the show must go on.

The LDP is too organized and strong, where as the other parties won't have any chance of winning because they are constantly dissolved or too weak or won't form coalitions, stability is the key

This is nice to see. Need to see more. Not just on weekends in specific areas

Abe feels that he has to play Cowboy in SE Asia and to 'protect' Japan but the average Japanese is unaware of Japan's advanced defensive capability! One, only one Japanes battleship is capable of dealing with up to 500 military incidents simultaneously!! China is nowhere near Japan when it comes to military prowess

The people of Japan are right to demonstrate for peace.....,,

There was also demonstration against Abe and militarization in Kyoto.

Abe... doesn't... care...

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

I am sorry to say this but it will fall on deaf ears and they should have thought about this when it they voted. The Japanese people brought this on themselves by being so apathetic. Abe doesn't care what his populace thinks. All he cares for his and his family's vision of a glorious Japan.

I agree with sandhonour. Japanese people need to remember to exercise their voting rights the next time an election comes along. Protesting, whilst good in this context, won't have any effect if people continue to vote for the LDP (or not vote at all).

They are hiding their faces, and this does not look like a Japanese kind of rally. Koreans?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

These people will be responsible for Japan being unable to take appropriate measures able to deal with the changed situation.

It seems like these types of protests are frequent. Good for JT for reporting on these, since I can't see these reports elsewhere, at least not yet. But previous protests haven't been reported in other medias in the past either. None of these Japanese protesters holding yellow signs will get any attention from ANY major media. The only protesters holding yellow signs and symbols that will get attention are the Umbrella Movement and the Sunflower movement (I know bringing this up might sound out of place, but media bias does have its place in the politics of influence, which is why I admire JT for reporting many sides of the news).

This is heartening to see, but Mr. Abe doesn't care. Nothing will change.

It was mainly against proposed revision to Article 9 SDF that the Americans are demanding Japan makes.

Actually, many people were there demonstrating against the TPP too.

Let's just hope that the next one after Abe isn't just yet another puppet!

What makes you think there will be another?
