This is a majestic picture.

The World is going to be sad when Obama has to leave office.

As an American I have never seen a President so dedicated to establishing peace. He's an outstanding President.

I liked Obama, Clinton and the only Republican President I liked was Ronald Reagan. I won't even mention that family.

Yes, I agree with Speed/ The picture is quite majestic indeed. America and Japan. Nice!!!

Now if we can just get Japan to stop stealing our children and properly enforce the Hague Convention.

Notice how they're both in step as if marching to the same cadence.

I still cannot find any reference to Abe's visit to the US in US media. There is only one small article in the Wall Street Journal, but that appeared before Abe arrived. It was not on CNN or CBS news shown this morning in Japan. Had anyone seen anything about the visit in US media?

A monumental picture.

Bit of Washington Monument trivia: It was begun before the outbreak of the Civil War, and construction was halted during the hostilities; after it resumed, stone was brought in from a different quarry, which explains the different shading from the lower third and upper two-thirds.

gokai_wo_maneku, you're not looking hard enough. NYTimes.com has an article about Abe's visit and, specifically, his and Obama's discussions over US-Japan relations:

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/28/world/asia/japan-and-us-set-new-rules-for-military-cooperation.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&module=first-column-region&region=top-news&WT.nav=top-news&_r=0

Although, I can sympathize with your frustration over a lack of density in coverage. The general public (and that includes institutions of journalism) is a little behind in recognizing the winds of time. The 21st century is shaping up to be one with very firm Pacific emphasis, in contrast to the 20th century, which was mainly Atlantic. I fear the vox populi will catch up only after its too late.

Why does Shinzo always look so tired?

gokai,

News needs to happen before its reported, beginning has been mostly photo ops.

If you don't look tired in Japan, you're clearly not trying hard enough.

Load up Aerosmith - Walk This Way and play it while looking at this picture. If that doesn't break a smile across your face I don't know what will. Here's hoping that Abe and Obama succeed in their plans and keep up world peace.

Sure would like to see the delegations and Abe's face as they watch live action of Balitimore burning.

A great photo of two great men.

One, dubiously so. The other most certainly not.

Abe is keeping stride with Obama somewhat in laid-back fashion. Or Abe feels a bit tired?

@CGB SpenderAPR. 28, 2015 - 12:36PM JST A great photo of two great men... really?

Don't you mean a pretty photo of 2 actors on a great big stage.

surely some kind of "Honest Abe" comment is appropriate?

@Christopher @Kobe I challenge you to do the job that Abe and Obama do ... And do it better! After that you have the right to complain!
