Hmmm,
So many ways I can go with this:
First off. Wooohoooo! Yay for JT finally digging deep and pulling out the honest to goodness porn star card! ExPrincesKa, i agree with you. This is exctly the wrong type of person to promote this. This is a 24 hour programme, and kids may watch, and ask who is the woman promoting this?
Typical Japanese bad morals. Also their telethons, get stupid amounts like 10 Milion Yen, a drop in the ocean and pathetic, Japanese are tightwads towards helping others, no sense of charity.
Last time i was in UK, they had a telethon on the BBC, all celebrities participated for free, and load s of the general public did runs, walks, cycling etc events for the charity.
Thay raised over 6,000 Million Yen. Truely generous people. Japan, try to come close to that amount, never, they are mean with helping others esprcially HIV, which many believe does not exist in Japan.

lipscombe: I agree with your post. I was watching who wants to be a millionare a few years back , i asked my wife if it was a celebrity special, where they donate the winnings to charity? She said the average person doesn`t get the chance to win!!!!
Same as these telethons, there was one on tv, i asked my wife how much they raise, it was 8 Million Yen, what!!!
In other countries a generous rich guy or a business would more than double that in one donation.
Anyhow, i was under the impression, that most in Japan regard HIV/Aids to be mostly a foreigener problem.
Well i`m back in Japan or a while, hope things have improved since last time.

fukuyama - got to agree with you here. AV actresses are not regarded as lowly as they are seen in other countries and so their opinion will be listened to by people. Plus, they are actively involved in the sex industry (meaning making JAV) and so obviously AIDS, HIV testing, condoms etc wil be important to them. I think it was a good move as it's something all of them have to takw very seriously.

soldave; It most certainly is not a good move. People like Ami, should not be promoting an event that children can view.
These movies should be banned, it only leads to a lowering of morals. The people who start in these "movies" should go out and get a decent job, where their family and friends can respect them.
Old fashioned morals and decency are obviously absent in Japan, if this woman of low morals is used for a charity event, DISGUSTING!!

So who should they have? Some old politician who gets his kicks at hostess bars? Some female tarento who is said to be in a "scandal" if they even seen holding hands with a guy. And why would Ami be a bad person - surely the children will not know who she is. There's not going to be a big sign over her head with "Ami Natsui - star of Tempting Collegiate Student Enters a Male Only Church" or whatever crazy titles they come up with.
And why can't people respect those who are involved in the adult industry? Are you tainting gravure idols, models etc with the same brush?
