Amuro, 32, who was the first Asian woman ever to appear at the awards, performed her hit “Hide & Seek.” The award for Best Asian Artist was presented to her by Paris Hilton. How long ago were the days when she was referred to as 'that girl from the Super Monekeys who can actually sing"

In this crappy picture; yes. Amuro is a hottie as anybody that has purchased a Coke from a vending machine in Japan knows.

    @IronBeard at 01:50 PM JST - 20th May

Who can write the best caption about the backing dancers?

The male dancer looks like he has done that move many times, and not just dancing on stage.
The female dancer is riding high on her Harley, but with nasty torn leg stockings!

this sort of pop 'porn' makes me laugh...

One of the sexiest women in the country. Real talent. Might explain why she's hardly ever on TV - she acts like a woman and can do things.

I didn't like her stuff when she was with TK, but her recent stuff is pretty good.

    NeoJamal

I didn't like her stuff when she was with TK, but her recent stuff is pretty good.

There's a joke circulating around that all TK produced songs have the same chord progresions as "Get Wild"

like the commercial of her...32??? not bad!

A rip off of Janet Jackson costumes. How original.

I still am hooked on the song that goes "anata no kissu oh, kazue masho" by Misia.

In a sea of no-talent J-pop I have to give credit to the few artists who do actually have talent. Namie is certainly one of them. Though I don't personally like her music. She is a star in all the right sense of the word. Good luck to her. Japan needs to roll out more people who do actually have talent and retire the legions of no-talent kawaii stuff cluttering up the airways.

    blunderbuss

Namie is a cute young woman, but unfortunately for her, the photo puts her beside another young woman who is ****drop dead gorgeous****. ...and who also has a great body.

  • 0

    techall

    oops, make that Folk songs.

  • 0

    techall

@NeoJamal: About half the pop, rock, country, colk songs in the world have the same chord progression : 1-4-5-2seventh.

"WOW. Ah-a is still around?? And, who is that Susan Boyle person from Great Britain??"............hmmm who is susan boyle......not really sure if this person has any awareness of music or album sales in Europ or the US

  • 0

    Venetian

Yeah, she is alright, but still not quite as good as anything from the west.

  • 0

    Sarge

The guy on the left makes me laugh.

What's that thing on Namie's head?

  • 0

    Trapped

The back up dancer is either sponsored by a tissue company, or she stocked up on freebies in front of the station. And hot.

    OssanAmerica

herefornow at 01:53 PM JST - 20th May IMO the dancer behind her is much hotter.

    Which one?

  • 0

    HonestDictator

She's quite a good singer. I wish more J-pop stars could reach her singing abilities. This pic freaks me out though.

mrhog1234 at 04:36 AM JST - 21st May Is the male dancer wearing a cod piece? I didn't think asian men were so >well endowed.

    I never checked.

I have never been a big fan of Amuro but she has had a long and successful career in Japan. It is also good to see Japanese artists in an international setting. As for the backup dancers, the dude looks like a zombie and the girl looks a bit like Debbie Harry - it's just a shame that she doesn't get paid enough to buy a new pair of stockings.

  • 0

    TSRnow

Cool! Real talent should get noticed. Not like the others in Japan who can't sing live! Obviously, the recording engineers are the real talents in Japan.

WOW. Ah-a is still around?? And, who is that Susan Boyle person from Great Britain??

WOW, are they really? I wonder if they can still sing the high notes after all this time.

Susan Boyle... she must be enjoying this.

    mokgohan

From the looks of the background dancers I'm guessing the name of the new single Namie's singing is... Imaginary Carousel?
