Must admit that photo with colour of OUR leaves is nothing like that since I am in Province of B.C, Canada. So that was a good photo AND one could see the lucky people were just soaking in the beauty.

My apology for a bit of mix-up in grammer, I am sure it has something to do with age.
Obviouse I was trying to say we in this part of Canada do NOT have any colour, other then green to vallen leaves i basically brown, due to mainly Pine to Fir trees with some maple trees & such at our homes. That photo is definately outstanding & closest a bit of touch in leaves colouring is with the hard wood trees in Eastern Canada, but not a hop of anything like that photo.

Nice shot. An excellent composition. I like how the photographer framed the roof of the temple with the leaves in the foreground. And you can see the excitement in people's faces. These folks are lucky to be traveling to Kyoto at this time of year.

If anybody is interested, the autumn leaves up in Hakone around Gora are really good at the moment. Went up there on Sunday to take some photos. However, given the crowds, I would recommend that people try midweek.

November is absolutely the best month of the year in Kyoto. Unfortunately, as so often happens in Japan, the crowds at the famous spots really ruin the experience. Look at all the people just in this random photo! Much better to go on weekdays or to lesser known places if at all possible, and go by foot or bicycle! They should ban cars in many areas of Kyoto.

This building was built by Tokugawa Ieyasu in memory of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, on the request of Hideyoshi's wife. Kodaiji (which is the main temple complex, is a really awesome place. One of my favorite spots in Kyoto.

Personally I'm not a fan of this picture. Having such a large part of the foreground out of focus is quite distracting to me. I would've stopped it down to keep the foreground in focus, and cropped a lot, leaving the building and people directly in front of it.

I was just down there about a week ago. Unfortunately, it was before the peak of the leaves, but then again around the peak it would be more crowded and I won't be able to find a room in a ryokan.

Nice photo, wonderful city. Kyoto - he real Japan in my opnion. I wouldn't go to Kyoto in Autumn though - WAY too busy, you'd have to virtually fight past the pensioners to get anywhere. My advice, go at the height of summer - if you can handle the heat like me and most Aussies - and you won't have to put up with the throngs since most locals in Japan have little tolerance for the heat and humidity.
