Picture of the Day ( 7 )
The Kurobe Gorge Train runs over the Kurobe River in the northern Alps of Toyama Prefecture. The train service reopened for tourists this week. The train starts its slow 20-km-long ride at Unazuki, located at the mouth of Kurobe Gorge, and ends in Keyakidaira. The service will be operated until the end of November.

Needed. Many facilities are struggling to reopen before Golden Week.

It will be operated until the end of November and then closed for winter, but re-opened again after that?

That's the picture of the day? I hope lots of people ride the train, so that the Toyama Prefectural Government can use some of the profits to hire a real photographer, cause that is a horribly overexposed photo! Anyway, looks cool, it's a shame most tourist trains here don't have open carriages, would be great in the summer months standing outside watching the view.

Reminds me of some of the road bridges I saw from the train between Nagoya and Takayama, but a train bridge of this design with a bend in it is unusual! Looks like it would be a nice trip!

I always wanted to do one of these trips in another part of Japan, but I never had the chance. Definitely will get there eventually though.
