Sorry norinrad21, but I had to be honest. I didn't say she was ugly, that would be mean and petty and completely untrue, but she isn't the great singer everyone's making her out to be.

ritalynn, so what if there are way better singers than her?? The fact that she got to where she is today due (in part at least) for her singing and performance abilities makes her a true talent. It is impressive to see someone like this featured in the Japanese news because the "singers" we're so used to here are almost always former pin-up models with absolutely no singing or dancing skills whatsoever and who only end up performing to make their production company some extra money along with teen-magazine sales. Have you ever seen any Japanese dancer do anything remotely as cool as Beyonce's dancing in the video "All the single ladies"?? That'll be the day.

who's making her out to be a great singer? most people would agree, she's good at what she does and that's singing. I haven't seen anyone one here putting her in the same category as Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin or Even Gladys Knight.

I prefer her hair like that. I think she's slimmer here. On the tv ad (the water ad?) she looks big. I watched DreamGirls and she was positively overshadowed by Jennifer Hudson in the singing department methinks :-O

As usual all the haters. No one said she was the best...but she is all that in today's pop tart world. Meaning she can actually sing and dance and entertain people. And she is soft spoken and comes across as normal. This is of course in comparison to most pop stars. She has been the "It Brand" for the past several years while many have had one or two hits and have disappeared. She has been hot on the scene for a decade now. I saw her in person in my old club in NYC and that was in 2001. She is not even someone I listen to but you have to give credit where it is due in the pop world. If you like better singers fine. Doesn't belittle her talent at all.

XXXXX -- Jennifer Hudson won an Oscar I believe for her performance in DreanGirls, so she "overshadowed" pretty much all female singers/actresses with that role. Which, does not make Beyonce any less talented in her own right. Respectfully, do you think Jennifer Hudson can dance anywhere near as well as Beyonce? virgo is dead on.

Oh my....I had to register just to respond to the haters. Beyonce's CD, Sasha Feirce, is awesome! You can't compare her to the great artist from the 60's because that was a different time. So....if I had to compare her to her peers...she is doing pretty well. I think that she has a beautiful voice and is extremely creative. She also writes her own music. So...if ya not doing the same thing.....shhhhhh. :)

I agree with Tenshi21. Get off Beyonce's back all those haters out there. Beyonce has it all, the voice, dance moves and looks. I think it's great to see a super star, with a "full" figure or should I say voluptuous figure, like her. I get tired of seeing all the pencil thin pop stars here in Japan.

I've never heard her sing and have never seen her videos, but I do remember hearing something like she started in the business when she was around 9 or 10 years old and has been working ever since. Sometimes in ridiculous costumes designed by her mother. Kudos to her. She never gave up. Now she's rich and famous. If you like her, fine. If you don't like her, fine. I don't mind seeing her face everywhere because she is very beautiful, imo.
