    Mr/Ms Moderator, with all due respect, not evryone knows were Shiodome is. Adding at least prefecture or city name would help. Not everyone is a Tokyoist mind you.

    Display looks ok to me, still too much commercialism for my liking.

    As for Shiodome, I would have assumed it is as well known as the Rockefeller Centre, Picadilly, etc.

    To those wondering where Shiodome is - I don't understand, don't you use Google? Entering "Caretta Shiodome" gives you a map and everything.

    Is this the only holiday illumination in Japan to use primarily blue and white lights?

    In my area most are now either white or blue(some a mix). There been others here posted before that are also white or blue.

    Noticed they reduced the illuminations in my area and seems to all LED now.

    As a side-note interesting to see how X-mas decoration fashion changes here every year. This year seems to rather subdued(reds, gold/silver, greens and blues) with fewer lights.

    I too was wondering why people lamented in the previous comments about JT not providing the prefecture, city name, subway stop, lat/long coordinates, etc. of the place shown in the picture.

    Those commentors could have typed the word 'CARETTA' into Google (or almost any other internet search engine) and found out the information faster than typing a complaint comment.
    CARETTA is easily seen in the photo, I typed it into the Google search page (and I am in Okinawa, far from being a Tokyoist or Tokyoite) and the first (THE VERY FIRST!) search result was for the Caretta Shiodome. The facility's homepage even has a photo of this illumination on the top banner and a special section providing more information (Ocean XMas 2010). The section has some incredible photographs of the illumination in the SPECIAL GALLERY link!

    For those who do not know how to use internet search.....
    the illumination at Caretta SHiodome is presented daily from 5:00pm to 11:00pm until January 10, 2011.

    I'm going to take a guess and conclude that was a rhetorical question; I mean, you didn't really mean to ask exactly how many bulbs they used, did you? Or is it an engineering joke?

    The only thing missing is a blue angel; might as well throw in Smell-o-vision while we're at it.
