British Airways
Picture of the Day ( 12 )
College students model British Airways flight attendant uniforms from the past 60 years at Mitsukoshi department store in Ginza Wednesday. The uniforms included a kimono (worn in the 1970s), a Scottish tartan and a psychedelic paper dress (for the Caribbean route). The fashion show was held to mark the 60th anniversary of British Airways flights to Japan.

This could be the cover picture for a specialst Bongo-Flick.
Also, how short is the bonnie lassie in tartan! I couldn't see her struggling down the isle with a fully-loaded trolley. Carnage!

Yes, I's like to see photos of the British Airways stewardesses* from the 1970s wearing kimonos.

Very interesting & yes I recall the kimono outfit for it was in some pictures back some years ago. The Scottish tartan was another one I remember from a print.
Agree that the caucasian woman seems to have the best of legs which is surprising.
Still such a variation in dress uniforms one never seems to realize unless it is drawen to our attention. I guess we learn as time goes along.

I guess the Japanese stewardesses on British Airways wore the kimono for certain flights:

These have to be the unsexiest stewardess uniforms I have ever seen.
