French actress Audrey Tautou, 33, poses for the press in Tokyo on Tuesday. Tautou is in Japan to promote the French film “Coco avant Chanel,” which is about the life of the iconic fashion designer. It is the second film on the subject this summer, following Shirley MacLaine’s portrayal as the older designer in “Coco Chanel.”

I can't comment on whether she can act or not, but what the heck is she wearing? It looks like a bizarre cross between a maid costume and a frilly nightie. Is this a taster of the quality of the costumes they'll be using in the film?

She was absolutely wonderful in "Coco Before Chanel"...and the dress does look like Heidi met Maid Cafe. ANYWAY, every one go see the movie. Best "date movie" ever, too!
