SARS all over again. If there's one thing that makes me feel hot, it's a thermal imaging camera staring at me.

Glad to see the billions they spent on the SARS cameras are being put to good use.

Why don't they use a better font for the English part of their message?

Sat on the runway at Narita years ago as guys in spacesuits come on board with thermographic cameras. Unfortunately the young Japanese man across the aisle from me had a cold and raised the alarm. They tested him on the plane and he was negative but it delayed me over three hours. At the time I was annoyed but later relieved I didn't have to spend a week in quarantine.

I for one am glad they are being careful!

Pretty sure you mean "thousands" there. Those cameras aren't that expensive...

People die everyday from different stands of influenza and common flu viruses. Why make a fuss over this one?? Just another ridiculous tactic to make you feel unwelcome when you arrive in Japan. And who wants to have the games here? Well take away your cameras and scans and JP might be considered.

inexpensive? Made in China, me guess.

Flir thermal cameras are not cheap, more like 10's of thousands.

Does this thing detect radiation too? Oh, I guess they should do that as people are leaving.
