Men pour cold water onto themselves during an annual cold-endurance festival at the Kanda Myojin Shinto shrine in Tokyo on Saturday. Pouring cold water on their bodies is believed to purify their souls.

Vagabond: You beat me to it! haha. Anyway, I don't see how this is 'endurance', really. Endurance would be seeing how long they can sit under a cold waterfall,or sit in cold water in general. Or do they continue to pour the water over their heads?

@Farmboy

A cold beer does the job for me. In the mouth, not over the head.

I did this, and believe me, my soul is completely purified! All past misdeeds forgiven!

Seriously, these guys are at least a little bit nuts...
