Russell Crowe holds an ornamental arrow presented to him by Uno Kanda during an event to promote his movie “Robin Hood” at the Ritz-Carlton in Tokyo Midtown on Wednesday. The actor said he thought Kanda looked fantastic and called her headwear a “fascinator.” Crowe, 46, who was last in Japan in 2002, said he spent seven hours just walking about the streets of Tokyo on Tuesday, ending up in Kiddy Land where he did some Christmas shopping. Crowe said he has been taking it easy for the past 12 months because of a growing number of war wounds accumulated during his “physical” movies, but added that he is looking forward to getting back into shape for his next film. “Robin Hood” opens in Japan on Dec 10.

I'l bet Russell is struggling to remember what the film is about. I bought my dad the DVD in September. A good film, but not worth waiting nine months for and then forking out 1800 yen to see it once.

Hey, I was in KiddyLand on Tuesday ! I didn't see me no Gladiator. I coulda had me R. Crowe's autograph ! He's still cool even if only for that flic but he doesn't seem to have any more blockbusters up his sleeve.

Apparently it takes them 9 months or more to translate from English - Japanese. I know there are only a handful of qualified translators in Japan - but seriously - 9 months?

Burakumin - I think they need translations in Croatia, Indonesia, Korea and bleeding Estonia too, but they were all able to get the film out on time.
