Cruising
Picture of the Day ( 13 )
Tom Cruise greets fans upon his arrival at Haneda Airport on Wednesday night. Cruise, 49, is making a 27-hour visit to promote his new film, “Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol.” Cruise—who is immensely popular in Japan where he loves to interact with fans—had originally planned to start his 11-nation world promotional tour in Dubai, where much of the movie was filmed, but decided to kick off the campaign in Japan instead to show his support for evacuees of the March 11 disaster. He will meet fans specially invited from Fukushima prior to the Japan premiere at Roppongi Hills Arena on Thursday night. “Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol” opens in Japan on Dec 16.

I really like this guy too. He too a lot of flack for that Oprah incident. He really is one of the most approachable actors in Hollywood. Most of the people around me are very excited about this Mission. The spy genre has been lagging a bit lately so I hope this turns out to be a good story.

Never understood the wee bloke's appeal - he'll never get an Oscar that's for sure and certain!

The last Samurai on an impossible mission with ghosts - that can only become a smash hit in Japan. Welcome to Japan, Tom and thanks for your consideration.

Oh my god!! I wanted to go to Haneda airport to meet him. I like his actions and smile. I watched mission impossible 1 when I was young I wanted to be spy like him, because I’ve got impression of him. I was thinking about how should I doing for to be spy every day when I was young. It was really good memories. I can’t wait to see his new movie.

Kudos to him. He and his collaborator Paula Wagner certainly know customer relations; and how to "press the flesh" and publicise his films, though his last effort Knight and Day was a flop worldwide. Seems to have decided to keep his beliefs to himself now, and just act.

When is this guy going to stop dicking around with action flicks and go do something like Born on the Fourth of July again? He obviously has the chops, just lazy I guess.

combinibento: The budget for "Ghost" is north of $140 Million and a film starring Tom Cruise has the potential for a big box office return. I wouldn't be suprised if he's getting a % of revenues.
