Picture expired.

The Dalai Lama speaks to the media during a news conference at a hotel in Narita on Saturday. The Tibetan spiritual leader is scheduled to meet victims of the March 11 disaster.

All these will be noted & sorted out when the MP Noda visits ( if the visit materializes ) Beijing in a month..

I had read many of his books. He is a great writer, teacher, preacher, and healer for peace IMHO. Enjoy Japan, Dalai Lama.

I wonder if he was really reencarnated... and how many people actually belive he was a reencarnated person.

One piece of advice he gave to the Japanese on his last visit was not to work so much -I don't think they took it too seriously though

Too bad Red China didn't choose him as torch runner (for a very short distance) for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. I support the Tibetan people.

A great man regardless of whether or not you believe in religion or spirituality, he has so much that others could learn.

I really wish he could also sit down, have some tea and great talks with Ikeda sensei! Both are fighters for peace, for are Buddhists so, the whole world needs more peace! NMRK!

This bloke wears me down ... I've read many of his books, listened to him and find it all lacking. There's a smugness about Lamaism in particular that I can't quite explain. Much like Catholic smugness actually and that they feed on the neuroses of Westerners bothers me. So drone on about 'compassion' and 'suffering' and rope in more converts to support your cause I suppose. Not me ...

The literature has had a positive influence on millions of lives but why are so few people willing to look at the man critically? He has become a pop figure as a result and it is difficult to take some of his concepts seriously.

Good man with 100% credentials but 0% success, something is wrong somewhere, may be his destiny is as such.

I wonder how many gaffes the Llama will make this time? He usually forgets the names (and gender) of the PMs he meets! LOL For a real living God, I'm kinda surprised!

The names and gender of the Japanese PMs is not important. That they are idiots, other than Kan, is the key point for the Dali Llama to recall.

No one says his Holiness is a living God, the Dalai Lama had worked on himself to gain enlightenment many many lifetimes ago. He is so intelligent about matter, energy, consciousness and it's evolution that it is not even funny.

@Ultrack. I see you've bought the hype hook, line and sinker. He's a good man I agree, but don't forget he's just that; a man. Like all of us his primary motivation is survival. And in his case that also means by proxy, the survival of a TIbetan culture in exile. It sounds to me like you're having a moment of metaphysical confusion. A good man, nothing else. If he's that 'enlightened' why not put an end to the schisms and often violent clashes between his followers and the followers of the Dorje sect. Not everybody in Tibet wants to see him come back either.

Burakumin, maybe this is his polite way of telling Japan that they need a PM in office for more than a year so that he (and we) can get the name straight??? Just a thought!

@OkiMike - ha ha - well said! To be honest I struggle to remember myself who is the Japanese PM from day to day...

The only thing that makes these moral teachers "great" is the media gives them air time. Most people can spout off the same moral teachings if given a microphone, but they won't claim to be reencarnated and wear mystic garb so it wouldn't be as exciting.

Dalai Lama basically means "Ocean Teacher."

C'mon, realdoll - Bono and Richard Gere told us he is great, so Mr.Llama must be "the real deal"!

Only a true Richard Cranium would feel that it's OK to disparage the leader of someone else's religion.

When I was a boy my mom would say "would Jesus say that?" Guess in you case we could say "Would the Lama say that?

Yes, you're right. The Dalai Lama would say it's not OK to disparage the leader of someone else's religion

I doubt the Dali Lama would be interested in talking to cult leaders like Ikeda...
