Mr. Aso just wants to keep being a prime mister for a while and also don't want to lose his Cabinet office now. So poeple don't like LDP as Aso will not do better policy for homeless/jobless people any more. People wants "change" to DPJ. 12000yen cash one time can do NOT much.

i'm glad i'm not the only one who can't say the prime minister's name without distorting it into a certain curseword!

    "bring Koizumi back"

I liked Koizumi. He looked cool riding that Segway Bush gave him, and doing his Elvis impersonation.

Obligatory voting, like in most civilized european countries . . when the last monkey has to go vote, he has to use at least one of his braincells to make a cross somewhere . . . . . at least japan would know where it stands really then.

How many of the population in japan goes actually the way to the voting offices? 50%?

The federal revolving door is still spinning. I wonder how many of these protesters actually know what they are protesting about. How do the Japanese people expect anything to change if they keep changing governments every six months? I think they need to get a new hobby. Just ridiculous!

Yes, there is, but it doesn't rhyme with Aso.

I agree with someone above- if not Aso then who? We are scraping the bottom of the barrel now- I just can't see any of the current alternatives doing a better job, and at least Aso has some personality, unlike Fukuda.

This portion of Japanese way of life will never change. Simple basic reason. No one has a talent for a subarashii Management's skill.

ere on Friday night, and was very impressed with the quality of the speech that I heard, from a young Japanese guy. I also got one of their leaflets and was very encouraged to see people standing up like this and expressing their opinions about Aso and the LDP. I see hope for the future in this. Its a first strp to getting the LDP out of office. They quoted the percentage of people who disapprove of the government, and said that the ASO government cannot last more than 2-3 months with such a low approval rating. I enjoyed this rally - pity more of you hadnt been there. It was freezing cold, too, which made their efforts even more impressive.

Peaceful demonstration is healthy, especially here and an ear to hear is a proven path to understanding. It would be nice to see not only demonstrators but people come together to better their world and situations globally. Personally I don't know much about Mr Aso and the LDP.
