Lighting was replaced by the light of 100 battery operated fake candles. After solemnly recognizing the gravity of our environmental problems, guests went back to life as usual in the 5-star hotel. They all felt much better about themselves for doing something to help the environment - though they were unsure what exactly it was they did. Surely a moment of listening to violin music in a candle-lit room helped... somehow.

Then they all tweeted on their I-phones how they were part of a great environmental movement in of all places - a five star hotel - even if just momentarily on a vacation before they return Monday to their executive positions in corporations that rape our planet.

But hey - the rich felt good for a moment and that's what counts.

Earth Hour is nothing more than waste of time to do nothing but make yourself feel good about one hour as if you'd never do that if it wasn't for 'Earth Hour'. Clueless Lemmings. There are better things to do IF you actually want to make a difference and that would be something you'd need to do everyday NOT just for one hour in a year that contains 8760 hours.
