Members of the Edo Firemanship Preservation Association perform on top of bamboo ladders during the annual New Year’s Fire Brigade Review (“Dezomeshiki”) at Tokyo Big Sight on Sunday. The event is a spectacular demonstration of fire and disaster prevention performed by the Metropolitan Fire Department. It featured firefighting drills, rescue, first aid, a parade of firefighting equipment and other various performances.

tapioca - they used to watch for fires like this - the pole works like a portable fire-watching tower.

It's a great picture. I really like it. I can't do it. Most people would be scared to climb up there.
My funny bone, wonders if these guys have a second job in Shinjuku 2-Chome. They look too comfortable on these poles.
Can we get some FEMALE firefighters up there?
