Sunset over Mount Fuji as seen from the Yoro river on the Boso Peninsula in Chiba Prefecture. The chimney stacks are fossil fuel power stations along the coastline of Tokyo Bay. The smoke is being blown to the south due to blustery winter winds.

It IS one of the contradictions to living here. When I take the Shinkansen from Tokyo south, I try to avoid the shots of Fujisan with the industrial smokestacks. After this, I won't. Very thought provoking photo.

I think the smokestacks could be photoshopped out but then the pic wouldn't match reality. The juxtaposition of Fuji and industry is interesting.
