An 18-meter-tall Gundam statue stands in Shiokaze Park in Tokyo’s Odaiba to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first broadcast of the “Mobile Suit Gundam” animated television series. The statue will be on display through Aug 31.

    Its too bad Gundams dont look cool. As much as I want to like them. I think they all look pretty... not bad ass at all.

    Prime looses just by being in Transformers 2. What a piece of garbage that movie is. I almost walked out.

    I wish there's a life-size Zaku II to go with this Gundam. I always identified more with the Principality of Zeon than the Earth Federation in the series...

    I remember seeing a picture of this statue being built years ago. Technically speaking I'm thinking a Transformer would kick a Gundams arse any day of the week, being sentient and all that and able to adapt to conditions where as gundams need a pilot. That aside if they're going to start building the almighty mecha, why not go with Masamune Shiro's more practical and realistic designs.

    Anyways, nice otaku statue.
