That gentleman has seen a lot of historical events. Just think of all the inventions he has seen come into our lives - aircraft, electric lights, phones, plumbing, TV, and too many more to mention. Happy birthday.

Good on him! He has just replaced another old fella as the oldest man, an American who only died 5 days ago - also 114. He looks quite spritely for his age, too!

Jirouemon - now theres is great sounding name, beats the same boring names that proliferate society these day like Koki. Jirouemon - snounds like a Samurai. 114 - not too shabby.

Nice photo!!! Ganbatte, Kimura - san! It is hard to imagine how it feels like being born in the late 1890s and actually being able to see the 2010s.

Still, well clung on, Mr. K. Many more of them.
If this chap retired when he was 65, he's been drawing a pension since the Kennedy Administration. Outstanding.

I like his hands.
I wonder how many children he has buried. Not pleasant to outlive your children, I'd think.
But still, he's lived in three centuries.
