Happy birthday

In this photo provided by the Imperial Household Agency, Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko look at a garden at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. The empress celebrated her 78th birthday on Saturday. In a statement released to the media, the empress reflected on the events of the past 12 months. She expressed worry for her husband's health after his heart bypass surgery, concern for those still suffering from last year's earthquake, tsunami and nuclear crisis, her pleasure at attending Queen Elizabeth II's diamond jubilee and her joy at Shinya Yamanaka co-winning the Nobel Prize for Medicine.

Happy Birthday, Your Majesty!

That would be "Your Imperial Majesty" to you, pleb.

The emperor is looking dapper, as always.

Simply a very nice photo of the Royal couple. I got a glimpse of their son, Crown Prince Naruhito, in Luxembourg today as he was leaving the cathedral attending the wedding of Luxembourg's Crown Prince Guillaume.

They always seem so happy together.

Then I'll just say this if I meet the empress; "I humbly apologize if I sound too brash, your Imperial majesty, but I wanted to wish you a very happy birthday this year and many more years to come."

Happy Birthday! I hope my wife and I look as great as they do at their age!
