And this is being paid for with tax money, I assume? And we are going to have an increase in consumption tax because of a shortfall?

Does that character have a head full of golf balls? Or is it an anti-histamine capsule?

Does it mean that if you eat a bowl of rice in the morning for breakfast, you will fall asleep in the middle of the day? Is that what they mean by "Rice Day"

"traditional breakfasts"

My traditional breakfast is Capt'n Crunch with whole milk.

I like this poster. Made me laugh.

Bogi...Which begs the question -- How does a bowl of eggs relate in any way to the headline of "Have a Rice Day"? What am I missing?

Mismatch..This pic might look better in traditional dress...!

If a bowl of rice tried to ride the Saikyo-sen, it would be pulverised before you could say 'onigiri'

have a bowl of rice every day and you too will turn into a no-personality droid with bad breath and a cheap suit

I don't know why this traditional breakfast is so surprised. She knows where the women-only car is.

I just saw this poster on the subway an hour ago. I wonder when the Contac cold medicine people are going to sue.

Then I thought about how Japanese rice is 7 times more expensive than any other. I'll stick to Cheerios, thank you.

Rejected catchphrase:

Eat more rice, or the uyoku boys will make you wear this neat head-dress!

You'd think the never ending price increase of wheat would stem the unquenching thirst for bread and other delicious foreign goods. Have a rice day and have some unsatisfying local food and culture.

If the agriculture ministry really wants to protect its inefficient farmers, why not put up the standard bikini act? Salaryman wouldn't be nodding off then would he.

I see what you did there.

if they are trying to encourage women to eat rice in the morning...they should have a before / after add showing a women without breakfast and sleeping with her head dangling over a VERY happy man's crotch. Then show an after breakfast with her smart enough to take an all women's car, everyone perky and nicely dressed.

They can also promote the sign at public schools. Have a lice day.

DenshaDeGo,

My first thought exactly - when are the Contact cold remedy people going to sue?

Looks like those two guys are asleep at noon. Guess they overate at breakfast?

Awesome, I love the egg girl. I wish I could wear that outfit to work. What's that you say? It's a bowl of rice. No boys that is a bowl of eggs as plain as day.

A bowl of eggs and some salarymen? I don't want to have a rice day.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Whoever thinks that's a bowl of eggs has never tried to pile a bunch of eggs in a bowl like that. This is obviously a bowl of sticky rice.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

nobody can eat 50 eggs

Every single poster up the middle of my Joban line trainyesterday was a variant of this. Surely, if you like rice, you'll eat it, and if you'd prefer a bit of toast, it's your privilege to choose to eat that also?

Please, before increasing my tax burden next month, somebody in authority justify this immolation of cash.
