Is there a reason Atsushi looks as if he's drenched in blood?

nobody cares

Which one of the fifty members is he?

5 ( +8 / -3 )

He's the one that wears sunglasses, which his production company identifies as "cool" and "edgy".

Say what you want but at least the guy can sing, the rest of those overtanned old farts are just riding his wave. And I say that as a total anti-exile fan.

Wow! Did the crowd manage to stay awake all through to the end of it?

Why on earth wud they have someone sing the Japanese anthem for a game in the US between two local teams............bizarre

Pandering to the fans! No doubt Kenji Maeda was pitching for the Dodgers! I might be one of the few who likes Kimigaiyo, but playing it in the US in a game between two US teams makes no sense. I like the idea of getting rid of all anthems before games, it is just not necessary, unless it is an international match. But when two baseball or football teams are playing, do we really need to play the anthem each and every time!

He looks like he's wearing a soiled bandage, such a bizarre choice of outfit.

The American crowd must be at a loss ....

Actually this fashion is the resulting effect of a blow to the head in accordance to the impact of a cylindrical object formulated of rubber with cork center, wrapped in yarn, and the injury to the temple area seeps southwards to give a genuine hippy throw back tie dye effect. Exile singer Atsushi remains upright so there is no sense and no feeling.

Ever since 9/11, not only have we had to endure the national anthem, but "God Bless America" as well. Except for authoritarian regimes like N. Korea, PRC and Russia, I think the U.S. is the only "democracy" that does this at sporting events. Hell, when they can get away with it, they even pray before HS football games down south.

Jeff Huffman,

We used to have that in the UK too. They used to play "God Save the Queen" when the movie finished. You were expected to stand up. There were even guys who saluted!

The world seems to be taking a great step backwards.

It's a good thing to love your country. But for your country to be good doesn't mean that others are bad. Love and aggression don't go together well.

Funny, most Japanese I know don't think Kimgayo is all that rousing.

I agree.

Particularly the ending. It just.....ends.

Why is he wearing a long skirt.....with pants underneath?

It was Japan night at Dodgers Stadium. Free Maeda bobbleheads to the first 40,000 fans, performances by Atsushi, Judith Hill, Kenichi Ebinina and other pregame festivites.

It's first time foreign National Anthem was singing at American's Major League Baseball game in history?

Whatever. Would have been more interesting if he performed "Sukiyaki." At least most of the Japanese present would know the words, which can't be said for the Kimigayo.

Not really.
