Indy Jones

Indy Jones

Harrison Ford, 65, center, producer George Lucas, 64, and Karen Allen, 56, meet the press in Tokyo on Wednesday to promote “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.” Director Steven Spielberg was supposed to come but had to attend his daughter’s graduation. Asked who their real-life heroes are, Ford said those who selflessly help others, while Allen and Lucas nominated Barack Obama as “an up-and-coming hero for those of us with hopes and dreams.” At that, the emcee promptly asked everyone (in Japanese) to get the discussion back onto the film which opens in Japan on June 21.

Much respect to Allen and Lucas, as Obama is indeed an inspiring hero for the new generation of Americans!

Unfortunately, while I tried to like the fourth installment of Indy Jones, I was sorely disappointed. Yes the first is one of the great movies of all time but this one was a super letdown. Too much computer effects. Not enough engrossing storyline and physical stunts.

Ford is a real life hero. In 2001, piloting his own helicopter, he rescued a 13-year old boy scout who got lost in Yellowstone Park.

He's starting to look a bit craggy these days, but still looks better than Keith Richards.

George Lucas looks like the Ewok king.

It would be hard to find anyone who looks worse than the greatest rhythm guitarist on the planet.

On topic, this is a great shot of Karen Allen. She deserves to be in more movies; she's got the talent and the sass.

I think George Lucas's throat deserves its own film: Jabba the Neck

Lucas: "Ford, get your hand off my ass !" Ford: "It's not my hand on your ass, it's Karen's".

Movie legends of the 80s in Tokyo. I wonder if they will be eating at Gourmet SMAP. Nice smile, Karen Allen. You can drink me under the table any time.

I can only hope I look as good as Harrison Ford when I'm 65 (I won't be sporting an earring however).

    Harrison Ford.

    Yummy, yummy, yummy, slurrp. :-)

I hope Mr. Cleo looks as good when he's 65. He probably will. I'll even let him have the earring if he wants. He probably won't want.

I much prefer Karen Allen to that harpy who was in #2. What a mess of a movie.

Who said white women did not age well? Karen looks 20 years younger than 56.

Harrison Ford, he is still a sex symbol. Looks great. He is the sexiest man in Japan at the moment.

At least in this picture she doesn't look any younger than 55 ;-)

I don't know if I've ever agreed with you more. ;)

Sad to hear that the film is a let-down. More-bigger-louder doesn't always mean better.

Had to chuckle about Lucas and Allen's political endorsement: A "hero for those of us with hopes and dreams." But apparently not for those with solutions, or even specifics. CHANGE we refuse to define. Hahaha...

    That "harpy" is Spielberg's wife.

I posted some other exciting and classy forum that I had hoped that this movie captures the flavor of the first Indy Jones. And then looked at the pic here and realized that he used the girl from the first movie, so maybe Lucas read my mind.

But despite all its shortcomingss, the Insects in Temple of Doom was AWESOME. Bugs and more bugs. inside of your clothes, lovely.

That harpy only became Spielberg's wife after he made the movie, methinks. Probably he directed doing the Shanghai Club ObiWan singing scene in her slinky red dress with all the dancing girls, ha ha.
