    does the seat recline to a balanced horizontal position, that would be nice, but I don't know if there would be any safety issues with that though.

    Wow!

    Too bad it's on an airline I won't fly with but still, that's really nice. Actually, I've always wondered how the idea of designing airline "seats" like a capsule hotel or the Navy's bunks would work. Instead of having a seat, you would get a bed. Personally, I would love that as I have never been able to sleep on the plane.

    The closest I've been to that was Virgin's upper class on Tokyo-London route, flat horizontal seat, but a lot less space.

    nice but it has nothing on the first class suites on Singapore airlines on the A380: your own little room......go down to ecocmomy class find yourself a hottie, invite back to your pad up at the front of the plane - quality.

    I just flew 1st class on Air Canada's 777. It was pretty good, similar set-up, but a little less space. Makes a world of difference, especially on a 13-hour hull!

    Look's good. Pity (a) I don't get to fly first (company policy and personally won't pay for that) and (b) JAL is an airline which I think has one of the worst service levels from cabin crew. The last time I flew TKY-HK on JAL, I felt it was worse than flying a domestic flight in the the US.

    That said the seats look a lot better than the new business class seats on Ctahy Pacific. If only we can get JAL seats and Cathay Service.....

    Yeah, keep making all these "improvements" for the newer, bigger planes, but let`s just see how we find the fuel to keep the planes in the sky, not to mention the passengers who can afford the tickets, for the next few decades.

    With fuel cost add ons, baggage add ons, XYZ add ons maybe they should just build all their seats to be first class bubble compartments. After all, seems that only the wealthy will be flying anyway. Business is going to video and web conferencing. Flying is becoming too expensive for business and pleasure.

    What happens in emergencies? Seems like these would be obstructive.

    i have yet to meet a person who likes to fly purely for the joy of taking a red eye or for the joy of sitting in a commerical plane. That said, we all do because, nothing beats a face to face meeting in business (in person) and nothing is more enjoyable that a good holiday. Planes have continued to be full despite oil prices and those airlines that have done well are the ones who have been able to differentiate themselve through a better quality product (Cathay and Singapore for example). They will rightfully keep designing cabins to please the traveller who flys regularly and is prepared to pay to get to where they want to go. Keep redeigning those seats in frst, business and economy!

    When I was in the Navy, I was often asked to take people or pick people up from Narita (very few Japanese speakers in my old office). As someone who has spent a lot of time just hanging around Narita Airport, I can also attest (and my brother, the pilot, agrees), Singapore Air's attendants are also the easiest on the eyes.

    The Korean flight attendants are pretty easy on the eyes. It is just that when they reach a certain age they are virtually forced into voluntary retirement. I think Qantas would have to be the worst for service in my experience.
