Fireworks light up the sky over Jingu-Gaien in central Tokyo on Thursday night. Some 10,000 fireworks were set off.

    I was in Sydney for New Years Eve a few years ago and witnessed the best fireworks display I have ever seen. Unfortunately all the ones I see now are just amateurish in comparison.

    Nice photo, got to see some of the show as my office is near the stadium on the 20th FL. Once in a blue moon I stayed late to the surprise of my Japanese colleages.

    Fireworks show are always so nice, natsu hanabi (in general) and July 4th are probably my favorites. However, the shows get a little too crowded in Japan, so I prefer the smaller ones (like in Itabashi). DisneySea does a pretty nice show as well.
