Those look like the least excited kids ever... guess they didn't catch the "Bieber Fever."

that kid's face, the one Beiber got his arm around, is classic!

Why wasn't this event held at the Canadian Embassy?

Those kids looks like they are all bored and not so impressed by the Bieber being there.

He looks cool in this picture as well as on a live performance. His videos are hit at a high rate of millions. "Love me" was hit more than 65 millions, "one time" was hit more than 242 million, "Never let you go" was hit more than 136 million. His visit to Japan has a great meaning to Japanese kids and young fans. He is the real Teen Idol.

1 photo doesnt say anything. Maybe they are all very shy. I doubt they dont know him.

The kids faces are hilarious, and Beiber's half-hearted smile suggests he is really thinking "what the hell am I doing here?"

But good on him for doing this though.

    good on yer Biebs

Actually my understanding is that he converted some hard core skeptics with this event; high school guys who have spent the last year and a half hating acknowledging that he is really a pretty good guy.

    Thats my boy Bieber!

I'm not impressed. I'm sure Rick Astley has been hit millions of times on YouTube but that doesn't speak to talent at all.

I've never seen many pictures of this Bieber kid but he has some thick ass eyebrows. Must be very off-putting to Japanese.

Most of Pop singers have fans in specific ages and demographic areas. Youtube can be used to see how popularity an artist has grown and gained. Moreover, the artist has also won some academic music awards from credential agencies like Grammy, MTV, Billboard and others. American Idol is another way of promoting talents from nowhere to the overnight star. Justin is just 17. He has specific aged fan bases worldwide. His live concerts in Japan are priceless this time. He has earned substantial numbers of awards so far.

Not a fan of his, but I think this is a great gesture. At least those kids are not flashing the annoying "peace sign" that seems prevelant in every photo with Japanese young girls.

He's a nasty spoilt little homophobe. Awards are mostly meaningless these days and are usually just for the most popular , ie biggest money makers for the industry.

    gogogo

Do they actually know who he is?

    MYRB2011

stevecpfc, are you anti-capitalism? just kidding, man. What business is your company offering? Marketing and media can promote new talents, if you don't like these so-called talents, you may define your own idols or talents at home such as your kids. But then, other people attack you like your comments here. It is a cycle of positive and negative comments. I like A-SAN, You like B-San. and we make verbal war for nothing. Their music are great or bad, does'n matter, but they have fans. Fans listen to music. millions or more. If you are 40 or 50, you can't sit for a minute to listen to a 17-year-old kid, except your child.

Okay, I can say this, he is definitely being groomed for Mega-Stardom whether he makes it that high or not. I still don't listen to your music but hey, I'll give you an A for Showmanship and Professionalism. I'll remember ya when you lose that heart on the sleeve sound.

MYRB2001; Not anti capitalism, but not a fan. Certainly anti celebrity culture which helps create people like Beiber.

Still alot of good bands about making original music that don't sell their souls for Dollars.

So called talent is right about him. if he was an overweight spotty kid, their would be no interest in him.

Kid seems to have some stage talent. George Michael found a buddy to do it with in the 70s... I wish him luck. Guess one of the CSI Vegas stars called him a brat on set. Honestly... I think the kid can tweet and dance his butt off but he will be gone in a few years. Similar to Debbie Gibson or Tiffany in the 80s. You want some cash? Grab your kid (if he/she has straight teeth and cute) to sing and dance on youtube and roll the dice. Hopefully the Canuck will stay away from the Corey Haim road.

Man so many haters here. I ain't no big Justin fan myself, don't really care about the boys music and never had any interest... but if he can make even just 1 of the school children happy at the U.S. ambassador’s residence and put a smile on the child's face, I think that's all that matters.

At least he's making an effort and trying to do something positive for the children. All you guys picking on his eyebrows and stuff, seriously what a joke.

Why at the U.S. ambassador’s residence?

I don't know. Did the Canadian Embassy staff ever return from their evacuation? If not, Bieber beat them back... : )
