    tokyokawasaki - those are used in dance, typically in contemporary styles, where being barefoot requires freedom of movement. The problem with barefeet is that while they allow greater freedom of movement and tactile touch with the ground, it's very difficult to turn. The skin on the feet "grip" the floor surface and prevent 360 degree+ turns. So, these shoes allow a combination of bare feet and some slippery-ness (I know, made-up word; apologies)

    JT is great in covering obscure sports which will be eliminated from next olympics for corruption and lack of objectivity. It is not a sport, it is circus with some dance and idiot fans.

    LoveUSA...rhythmic dance has been a sport for a very long time and long been part of the Olympic games as well. Perhaps you have never done it. You have to be quite gymnastic and flexible for it...it is more than just simple dancing around. And if the Olympics were to eliminate sports that are full of corruption and lack objectivity, there wouldn't be much of an Olympics left! :)
