Tomo Morimoto of Japan finishes third in the women’s 37th Berlin Marathon in Berlin on Sunday. Morimoto clocked 2 hours, 26 minutes, 10 seconds while Aberu Kebede led Ethiopia to a 1-2 finish, crossing the line a full minute clear of Bezunesh Bekele in 2:23:58. Kenya’s Patrick Makau won the men’s race in 2:05:08 ahead of compatriot Geoffrey Mutai (2:05:10) and Ethiopia’s Bazu Worku (2:05:25). Japan’s Masakazu Fujiwara was ninth.

geez, I HOPE she has the insight as to how brief all of this glory WILL be. I mean, (and I say this truly) who was the last female marathon talento who was the glory of glories, but then she kind of got old and now, well....I can't even remember her name.
Sports people, PLEASE rememer you are JUST entertainers and you will be SOON RePLACED. Just saying. I hope, at least, she enjoyed the race. It is just a beginning, I hope to something better.

This is a much better photo compared to the gymnastics event photo. but again thiw athlete looks like a man.

For a second or two I could not figure out what was in her right hand, but then realized it was her cap.
Still good for her, for even finishing in the top 10 of that day is pretty hard to do. My compliments to her win again.

Usually at races like this, even community 10K's, they have photographers at the finish line, just off to the side, who snap everybody's photo as they cross. They're very good at this, as they do it for a living. For the community events, then you can buy very nice, suitable for framing pic of yourself crossing the finish line.
I've bought a couple myself, and believe me, I didn't even know the photographer was there until I got the proofs in the mail. They are very discreet.

This photo is one of the first I remember seeing where the caption also mentions the winners. (Usually it's how the Japanese athletes did and, well, someone else won.) Good work/Good photo.
