Much nicer weather in Miami than in Seattle.

It's a one year $2 million dollar with no option for next year. Ichiro is doing this because he needs 156 more hits to reach the coveted 3000 hits in his US career.
I hope he gets the hits he needs because he deserves to be recognized for the great player he was by those stodgy US stat protectors who so far say his hits in Japan doesn't mean the same.

I didn't even know the lad was changing teams - he hadn't been that long with the Yankees, right? Good for him - I hope he enjoys the new gig!

Que: "September Song" Team jumping usually indicates a career on the downslide. Still .. hope he gets the 3000 hits.

It's a real shame that Ichiro has never won an MLB championship.

He's in the Hall of Fame even without the 3,000 hits, but I hope he manages it. It'll be tough - he's projected to be the Marlins' 4th outfielder, so he's not going to get as many at bats as he needs this season to get to 3,000.
