TV personality Mona Yamamoto, 33, attends a promotional event for the film “Passengers” in Tokyo on Tuesday night. Yamamoto appeared dressed as a therapist (the main character in the film, played by Anne Hathaway, is a therapist). Yamamoto said, “My dog always relaxes me at home.” Asked about her boyfriend, she said, “We are getting along with each other,” but declined to elaborate. “Passengers” opens on March 7.

Is this a sign of the recession? Apparently the distributor decided it was too expensive to bring Anne Hathaway over here, so we get a second-rate TV personality, who has no connection to the movie, dressed in a doctor's coat. Could be a long year over here if this is the trend.

So wearing a white coat makes her look like a therapist, does it?

How is she related to the film?

"How is she related to the film?"

She was hired by the distributor.

I think even calling her a "second-rate TV personality" is too kind...

once again they have garbage to say and the reporters questions are pathetic. This is shallow hell.

It's a sign of the same thing Japan has always done, hiring local flailing personalities to promote a film. They've been doing this for as long as I can remember. Most recent I can recall is shamed boxer Kameda for some cop drama that made nothing in the States a few months back. Now it seems they've gone for a woman that can keep her le....okay I won't go there.

in Japan, a white coat equals doctor or scientists for some reason. The trouble with asking locals celebs is, how can the press ask questions about the film? They can but the person won't have any idea as they have NOTHING to do with it apart from being hired as PR. The result is love life questions aplenty.

Thank you Mona for promoting a film we already saw few months ago thanks to streaming. “Passengers” is really a BAD movie!
