    Ah... monarchy- humans born into wealth, power and this. Nice white gloves dude...should be holding a golden spoon. Samurais to Sissies would have fit better....they sure left out about 200 years of havoc. I still cannot believe Monaco citizens can't gamble in their own casinos...

    A big difference is that Monaco has no, or very low taxes. Prince Albert, and the entire royal family, is principally self-supporting based on their large family wealth and holdings/business interests. Here, us poor tax payers foot the bill for all these folks.

    No, not really. Honda is like "Smith". But this Hitachi "prince" bloke sounds kinda funny. Anyway - I don't have much time for "royal" people of any country, truth be known, including the balding "Prince" Albert fella. Many of them (not all) live off the taxpayers because they proclaim themselves as "special".

    I still cannot believe Monaco citizens can't gamble in their own casinos...

    I wasn't sure if that was true for Monaco, but I know from living in Busan that Koreans are not permitted to gamble in hotel casinos. It's supposed to convince (gullible) visitors that "Koreans don't gamble" -- which is ludicrous.

    As for royalty, we must feel that they represent something about our cultures, otherwise we wouldn't have them. (Even republicans like Americans still venerate the Kennedy clan or the H'wood junkies as if they were royalty...)
