You might actually be correct. All big Japanese companies have their own company song. Learning it is one of the first things new recruits have to do on day 1.

"I promise to do my best to look busy, even when I am not, and to work crazy overtime hours in pursuit of this, and to do whatever my boss asks, without ever questioning him."

Just curious, do that many people retire in Japan every year? It seems that in Japan all companies tend to hire people all at one time. I know that there are people out there who don't get hired in the same cycle, but is it the Japanese tradition to get the new graduates all together at one time?
I wonder what would happen if a kid in college graduated early and got a job outside of the normal routine? Would he be considered an outsider and companies would be adverse to taking a risk on him or would he be a self-starter, potentially more of a problem to some Japanese companies.

This is not a company, it is the Defence Ministry. their "company song" is Kimigayo. Mascots are Prince Pickles and Parsley-chan. Mission is to keep the neighbours in check (and, occasionally, invade them).

These people will not be uniform wearing personnel. They will be the ones manning the SDF office spaces and placing their signatures on forms to be passed to the next office until they reach the age where they will be the ones sitting at the top of the heap making sure that the proper forms get routed during a 16 hour day.

I do recall from history that in a remarkable coincidence, a country that lost WWII like Japan once had this institution that represented itself to have acted in the interests of national defense and forced its new recruits to swear an oath of absolute fealty to their boss while wearing the same matching black outfit.
But it would be an insult to compare that institution with the Japanese MOD any further as they had better tailoring sense, the company that designed their uniform is now a leading fashion brand of men's suits, and its country got over their crazy group think antics that involved promoting homogeneous social and ethnic traits.

Office employees get employed differently and they are called bureaucrats. These mass employed youth get uniforms, caps, shoes, boots, etc. Boys get same haircuts at SDF commissary store. A few are women but majority are males. //the mass employees are soldiers.
