Japan's getting a lot of attention from Bhutan recently - the PM of Bhutan visited a primary school in Fukushima in September and ate lunch with the children there, as well as visiting their classes and giving a talk about Bhutan. Apparently, the country also sent supplies over after the earthquake.

Apparently the king met his future wife when he was 17 and she was 7 and fell in love with her immediately. He married her when she was legal age.

Well, I think the two on the right look absolutely dashing. So spirited, full of color and style. I can feel their culture and pride in it.
On the left, they look pitifully boring. Hitomi didn't even bother to wear a Kimono. Guess what kind of message she sent assuming the royals from Bhutan are intelligent enough to recognize when they aren't welcomed properly.
Furthermore if this is THE KING, then the event should have been postponed till the Emperor is feeling better. Noda is a low level politician even if he is the Prime Minister. Here in Japan it's more like being the office manager.
You really have to know Japan's customs to recognize whether or not they are sincere.

Bhutan is a country to be envied. Their lifestyle may be way to slow for us westerners, they are happy in a way we can imagine but we can't understand.

Bhutan limits the amount of tourists a year ( I believe 5,000-10,000 ) and Taktsang Manastery is very famous for it's cliff hanging location ( Google image it )

Bhutan's king is the greatest king around nowadays. He does so much for his country and should be set an example for other leaders. I watched their wedding ceremony, it was so beautiful and colorful yet so simple like a village wedding. My husband was surprised at her beauty and how mature she looks being only 21, he said you would never see someone here like that. They are here on their honeymoon and I really wish them all the best and I hope they can spend a very nice time here, and I hope to see them very often coming here.

Those boots are traditional hand made. They are worn on ceremonial occasions (mandatory); the colours used on the boot denote the rank and status of the person wearing it. In the pecking order, Ministers wear orange, senior officials wear red and the common people wear white boots.

I don't think it's a bad thing about the ages when the Bhutan royal couple first met. Obviously they liked each other and were happy to wait several years to marry. Good on them, I wish them every happiness.

So on their honeymoon they are dragged to tsunami zone. Why? Why does Japan seem to take everyone and their dog there? We get it. It was horrible. Perhaps they could do other things like, I don't know, discuss business and how to strengthen ties?
And what is with the honorary degree? Why do people get these things??

If a 17 year old said this to my 7year old daughter, he would never see her again, be reported to the police as a danger, and be lucky to escape without my husband punching him in the face, King or not.

We would never visit a sham democracy with an appalling human rights record anyway, Basher. If it is common to arrange marriages with 7 year old girls, then Bhutan has a long way to go before they should be welcomed on the international stage.
