    Don't you realize that the Olympic only benefits business community and unemployed?

    I am proud to tell you our voters said "no" to the Winter Olympic committee as we wanted to protect our quality of life and beauty of our state in US. It was a right decision to do so. Very beautiful, peaceful, quiet. I am very lucky to live here.

    If you think the IOC is going to send the Olympics back to Japan in 2020, I want what you are smoking.

    C'mon Japan - get your house in order first before mucking around with Olympic bids. It is highly doubtful the taxpayers are interested in more of their taxes being thrown away. Maybe come back and bid in 2040 or something.

    What the hey? Didn't they just say they didn't have a chance because the winter Olympics is in Korea? WASTE OF MONEY! This is beyond stupid... I hate the fact Japan will spend billions of yen because they dont want to lose face... STUPID!

    It is so disgraceful that J. Gov still cannot get act together with a Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). All J. politicians need counseling. Forget the Olympic, help victims!!

    Well, Greece hosted the 2004 Summer Olympics and look how they ended up.... bankrupt (LOL)

    There has never been an Olympic Games that has made a profit, says Robert Barney, director of the International Centre for Olympic Studies at the University of Western Ontario. Barney is also co-author of Selling the Five Rings: The International Olympic Committee and the Rise of Olympic Commercialism.

    The 1984 Los Angeles Olympics are often hailed for finishing with a $233 million surplus. But the calculation includes only direct costs of staging the games and not the indirect costs provided by city, state and federal governments. The same is true for the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary in Alberta, Canada, and the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. Organizers of both games claimed multimillion-dollar surpluses, but neither included massive federal spending when adding up costs.

    I heard that only America cities have made from hosting an Olympic games. This is win-win for Ishihara and his cronies. They get to give billions of yen to their mates again, knowing full well that they will never have to account for the cash.

    Since Fukushima needs to be reconstructed, why not have Fukushima bid for the Olympics. Tokyo does not need the jobs or infrastructure rebuilt.

    Time to start gathering up email addresses and contacts of IOC members and their staffs. Going to have to resend a whole bunch of stuff that I sent years ago slamming S.I. for his xenophobia then just wait for him to open his big dumb mouth again. This should be fun.
