I have been a fan of tennis for many years, and was also involved with the sport as a sponsor of professional events. Until I came to Japan, I'd never heard of Matsuoka. Can someone please tell me what this "star" accomplished in the sport -- outside of Japan?

Having watched Gokusen I can’t help but feel she is about to hit someone with that hairdryer. It’s a shame about the knees.

Better than a know-nothing-at-all talent, right? Not a fan of Gokusen, though.

In 1992, Matsuoka became the first Japanese player to win a singles event on the ATP Tour when he captured the title in Seoul. Matsuoka's career-high world rankings were World No. 46 in singles (in 1992) and World No. 95 in doubles (in 1989). His father, Isao Matsuoka, is Chairman of Toho Co., Ltd., the Japanese film studio known for it's Godzilla movies as well as numerous Akira Kurosawa films.

Didn't he make the semi-finals of Wimbeldon? Fair enough, but I can't stand his know-it-all fake interest reports.

Didn't he make the semi-finals of Wimbeldon?

Just checked. It was the quarter-finals. I also remember him winning a match on one of the outer courts - and subsequently prancing and dancing around the court like the idiot he is. Yes, I can't stand the man. He's the perfect tarento - all the oohs and aahs and sugoi's done over the top. Interesting sporting events on TV are spoilt single-handedly by this tarento posing as a serious commentator.

And that hairdryer - looks like the thing you use to scrape off snow from your windscreen.

I'll tell you what - Yukie is one of the few personalities here who doesn't pretend to be retarded or five years old.

The best shavers hands down are Hitachi Rotary, pricey though.

She is very lovely, but she needs to get shoes big enough to fit her feet.

He is so handsome - athletic and has great fashion style, his suit fits him perfectly. His shoes are well fitted to his feet.

And that is why she is dressed in yellow dress with a fitting color hair dryer

"So handsome"? Did you folks miss the double layer of bags under his eyes?

Yes, his bags are very visible. Yet he is still so handsome. Physically, Matsuoka san is a handsome man. He somewhat resembles Jet Lee.
