Pottering about

One hundred Harry Potter fans -- or "Potterians," as they are referred to by Japanese media -- attend a special event Wednesday night at Shinjuku's Piccadilly Theater in Tokyo to commemorate 100 days remaining until the release of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." In a video message, actor Daniel Radcliffe, 21, told the fans, "I'm really honored to be able to participate in the making of one of the greatest fantasy movies of all time." Part One of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" will be released in Japan on Nov 19, and Part Two will follow next July. The cast are expected to visit Japan in November.

Deathly Hallows looks good. Goblet of fire on the other hand was one of the worst piles of trash I have ever seen. Prisoner of Azkaban is the best.

I wonder what Warner Bros Japan will do after July next year. The Harry Potter movies have been a goldmine for them for the past 10 years.

I only counted 99 Pot fans.

ONE snug out to the toilet.

I like the books but was disappointed with the recent movies, next movie will only be 1/2 half of the last book from what I hear.

IMHO, there are some books that are too hard to make into decent representations of the books.

Those include "Never Ending Story"'they broke the major rule of the book, "Lord of the rings(should include The Hobbitt" enough material there to make 10 3hrs movies, "Watership Down"(criticism of UK goverment not children story), etc.

Most of those books rely on the readers imagination as few descriptions are supplied.

My view.

I think the 1st 5 rows are poternarians, the rest are not dressed up, probably pulled off the street for the photo so more like 49 excluding the poternarian on the potty.

My friend asked me if I had read any of the Harry Potter books the other day; "Hey DuraAce, have you read Harry Potter and the blah of the blah blahs, it's great! You have to read it!"

"No, I replied. I haven't read Harry Potter and the Shizzle of the Nizzle. Because I am 31 years old. I have, however read the complete works of Charles Dickens, if that in any way makes up for it."

I enjoyed the series of books and I'm 50. The early books were aimed at kids and the themes progressively grew darker and more "adult" as the books came out - so much so that the final book was NOT recommended for the age-group the original book was intended for.

Just because only about half are in costume doesn't mean the ones in back are not fans. As I stated, I've enjoyed the series yet I have never put on a Hogworts' cape, waved a wand, nor tried to make my own "butterbeer". Paint me as a fan of the series who doesn't need to cosplay to prove it.

I've never read the books but I've only been watching the movies. Not a big fan but the movies are fun to watch.

Fadamor, "the final book was NOT recommended for the age-group the original book was intended for."

Well, that is fine, as due to the nature of time, the readers of the original book were probably the perfect age for the final book when it came out.
