Former Yokozuna Asashoryu appears at an event to promote the film “Predators” in Tokyo on Wednesday. Asashoryu is a PR spokesman for the American-made action film which opens on July 10.

    It was only a matter of time until another Yokozuna sold out... Like mokogohan said, wow how the mighty fall. I am just amazed at how fast it happens.

    if you don't stay within the corrupted medieval confines of the sumo association, you are on your own in the world and make a buck as best you can.

    wajima went to prowrestle, akebono the same ( plus k1) wakanohana had a failed nfl bid. Asa probably got a hefty fee to do that predator gig, make hay while the sun shines my son, make hay.

    What I really want is a decent AVP movie, preferably based on the Original AVP Graphic Novel.

    Funny thing is, what Asa is doing now is more credible and respectable than the current state of play in Sumo! It has now descended into a grub-fest.

    Yes, isn't it ironic that he got out just before all this xxx hit the fan. Then again, its been hitting the fan for quite some time now. Probably why he got out in the first place.

    I saw the trailer for this movie when I watched Iron Man 2 on Sunday. Pretty good cast, but I'm sure it will be very much like the Alien vs. Predator movie that came out a few years back. In other words, it'll likely be an effects driven movie with the same story, and nothing new to offer but cooler death sequences.

    Oh, I doubt that very sincerely. He likely made considerable bank off of this brief appearance.

    And he does look pretty darn cool in that costume.

    Not really.

    The AVP movies promised a lot but delivered little, from bad story-lines/scripting to do many effects, etc. IMHO.

    I doubt it. It's suppose to capture the feel and character development of the team found in the original Schwarzenegger movie, deliberately avoiding the AVP influence.

    Well if Predators is as good as 1 and 2 then I definitely want to see it. Was never interested in the AvP.
