A good photo for the ASPCA, don't you think?

  • 0

    jinjapan

that would make a great x-mas dinner .

My pet rabbit has been pardoned from being served at X-Mas, would be too small anyway.

Very cute Pic though. Said that I am against the dressing up of pets.

A good photo for the ASPCA, don't you think?

The "C" in ASPCA stands for "cruelty". Disillusioned, could you tell me where you see the cruelty in this picture?

This is one of the best pictures ever taken in Japan. There is so much pureness and sincereness in this picture.

I guess next year, the J women's pet would be rabbits, rabbits, rabbits. I dread to even think that rabbits will being taken for a walk in Harajuku.

Rabbits make great Pets. Mine is toilet-trained. ;)

You can get a Miniature-Rabbit baby for as low as 4.980Yen(older ones can drop as low as 980Yen in price).

could you tell me where you see the cruelty in this picture?

You don't see dressing up an animal that already has a nature provided fur coat in "human" clothes to be cruel? The poor thing will be a laughing stock for all its friends! I'll bet dogs think the same thing.

That is one cute little rabbit. Let's hope it finds a good home far away from the likes of jinjapan.

As for dressing it up - it isn't as though the bunny is being hoiked around Harajuku in a bag, dressed in designer tat. Once the photo session was over I'm sure it was undressed and put back in its cage with a nice cabbage leaf or ball of straw to play with. I hope so, anyway.

as the Japanese would say: "Kawaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii"

It's not a pet rabbit yet, even if the shop calls itself a pet rabbit shop.

    It's just a rabbit in a cage.

Until someone maybe makes a pet out of it.

    Rant over.

Kawaii....rabbits make good pets. My friend's rabbit has the run of the house and is buddy buddy with the cat and the dog.

Nice thing about rabbits as pets they don"t make a noise or mess. Many landlords I found don"t mind them due to their silence and not leaving the House.

Ours also has the run of the apartment at night we put him into his cage(close the door once he is in).

Very cute indeed. I wonder if this hat isn't painful for its ears. I once had a white rabbit but when I let it play in our park, a dog came and the poor thing was taken to heaven.

No mess?! Don't they leave little rabbit poop pellets all over the place?

  • 0

    Zenny11

Not if you toilet-train them, quiet easy actually.

Ok, that is one cute rabbit. I can't deny it.

Rabbits tend to eat half of the stuff they poop out, I think.

Zenny, I'm intrigued - how do you train a rabbit? Can you clicker them? If you can, I'd quite like one. I have nightmare memories of shovelling stinky messes out the hutch when I was a kid, it would be nice to know you could have one in the house.

Can you train them to do other stuff, too? Come, Sit, Down, Fetch? Shake a paw?

    Zenny11

chuckers that is right not all of it is poop actually.

I went "kawaiiiii!!" upon opening this, and my co-workers looked at me like I was crazy. Then a few of the other ladies came over and screamed "kawaiiiiii!!" too. I feel like less of a crazy person now.

    Cleo.

You train them similar to a cat. If it looks like pooping put it onto the toilet. Also observe what place it likes to do its business and place the toilet there. Rabbits like to do their business some space apart from their sleeping and feeding place.

Some good training tutorials online, takes a few days and of course spayed/neutered is easier. Toilets need to be cleaned once a week atleast. Good news rabbits don"t need to be bathed and they hardly ever get sick.

Our rabbit comes when we call it, they also like to play games like hide and seek (very social animals). So some behaviour can be taught/trained. Again plenty info online.

Zenny11-- You make me want to get a rabbit now! I had no idea you could train one, wow. That's pretty neat.

Shoot 'em Now! Shoot 'em NOW! ( don't wait 'til you get HOME! Bugs Bunny cartoon)

I bet the rabbit does not think he/she looks kawaii. I bet he/she would rather be out in the wild where it belongs. Animals are not fashion or kawaii accessories.

Most pet type critters live short, miserable lives in the wild. Rabbits are prey, they get eaten in the wild. As pets they have full tummies, live in warm cubbies, get lots of smooches, and lead longer lives. If a bunny has to put up with a hat or two, or pancakes on its head, it's a darn sight better than dying of starvation, or hypothermia, or getting picked at by hawks and owls. I expect this little fella is quite happy to snuggle up to a warm human.

This is the cutest picture I've ever seen here since I started reading Japan Today.

Just so long as he doesn't make the mistake of trying to snuggle up to jinjpan, Firetribe or WA4RKG.

All the food comments make me sad! I'm not about to say you shouldn't eat rabbits, but come on guys, haha. This should warm your heart, not make you hungry!

My two rabbits are very good looking black and white, like pandas. They are all experts in turning grass and weeds into pellets which I use to fertilise my plants . Very cute ,very useful.
