Here's wishing only success for the sumo wrestlers. Do they also have a closing rite at the end of the season? Just a thought.

In that cold weather I'll bet a pair of socks would help immensely.

Nice to see them carrying on despite all the drugs, match fixing, bullying and financial malpractice allegations.

Am I the only one who finds it hard to watch this anymore after seeing the match fixing right in front of our eyes. Sumo and boxing are the same in this country they need to cheat to look like winners!

Sumo hasn't been the same since the ouster of Asashoryu. Interest in the sport for many people (including me) has plummeted.

Still feel Hakuho's run after the scandals was orchestrated, lets see how he will do after he gets the PR and Japanese Citizenship.

Hakuho is fine, but without a worthy opponent (Asashoryu), his victories rather lack meaning.

The sumo organization seems to be a bunch of old twits. Perhaps Takanohana can bring in new and younger members to revitalize it.

Smarter marketing would go a long way. Discount tickets, free events, letting people sit near the ring during lower level matches would go a long way. Oh, an no smoking anywhere on the grounds, too!

Oh, and that is Kyokutenho from Oshima-beya in the background, looking as awesomely implacable as ever.

Sumo just has no more draw for me since Asashoryu was forced out. Hopefully, someone will come along and effectively challenge Hakuho....but I won't be holding my breath....
