Gorgeous. Reminds me of spring in Arashiyama.

"A woman rows a boat while her companion takes photos..."
So Japanese... A woman rows a boat while her companion... A woman carries the luggage while her companion... A woman carries the groceries while her companion... A woman secretly meets her lover while her companion...

Harvey: "So Japanese..."
How are the things you mention Japanese? I've had a number of Japanese partners and always carried their luggage, did the 'rowing', carry the shopping (and do the shopping for the most part), do the cooking, a lot of the cleaning, and more. And I do it willingly, asked or not (although my current partner is not Japanese).
In any case, beautiful pic. Would have been even nicer if the weather wasn't so crappy during the peak of the cherry blossoms (was beautiful Thursday, and yesterday was so-so), but what can you do?

Row row row your boat, gently down the stream..of time, the master of all life. Merrily merrily, merrily merrily, life is but a dream, fleeting like these petals once high.

A gentleman would row the boat.
Vernie Jefferies
It looks like she wanted her picture taken in the fallen pedals. He can't photograph her and row the boat at same time.

I'd much rather row than be rowed. The lady in the picture looks like she's enjoying herself.
Gone are the days when ladies had no option but to sit demurely under their parasols and wait for some gentleman to drive the carriage/open the door/row the boat.
It's more fun now.
Maria
At least she knows how to row and which way the boat should go. Many don't.

I like this picture a lot would love to do it with my companion in the future! (Though I am scared of drowning haha)

I agree with Vernie. "Oh look, the flower petals are covering the water. I want to row now and you can take a picture of me rowing through the flowers."
