Sex and the City 2

Sex and the City 2

From left: Cynthia Nixon, 44, Kristin Davis, 45, Kim Cattrall, 53, Sarah Jessica Parker, 45, meet the press in Tokyo on Monday during a promotional event for their latest film, “Sex and the City 2.” The stars, who were joined by director Michael Patrick King, 55, said they have been overwhelmed by support from fans in Japan ever since Japanese women started coming to New York on “Sex and the City” tours during the height of the TV series which ran from 1998 until 2004. Hundreds of Japanese women, bearing flowers and chocolates, met the four stars at Narita airport on Sunday. The four, along with King, will attend a red carpet premiere at Roppongi Hills Arena on Tuesday night.

To quote Ebert about this film, "The characters of 'Sex and the City 2' are flyweight bubbleheads living in a world which rarely requires three sentences in a row." To quote South Park about the film's main star, she is a "transvestite donkey witch."

While it may not be a thought-provoking and deep movie, it does serve its purpose for those who just want an escape from the real world in Japan and abroad. Plus, sometimes Ebert and other reviewers think too much and don't look at a movie as entertainment for entertainment's sake.

Didn't this show kind of die out about a decade ago? Still milking the whole "single and dating in NY" schtick - even though the stars are well into middle age? LOL!

Oops, even with the 4 inch heel, SJParker is shorter than the others. Never mind the silly show, good that the ladies are maintaining their figures.

    That made my day...

Man, even Super Wonder Bread get old quickly... such a shame even with all that money.

Well they certainly look their age. What is it with JT pics? Are they photoshopped to look bad?

  • 0

    ogtob

Why to they look all yellow? Is there a strange filter on the camera or wierd lights at the promotion or are they jetlagged?

All four were photo-shopped to the max for the entire film....more illusion/ tricky effects than Avatar I hear.... This photo is what they really look like I guess.

The film is really bad they say....then again the show was a sad joke too!! Transvestite donkey witches!!! Love it!

Gotta say something here. If anything Roger Ebert is willing to take entertainment for entertainment's sake. That's what makes him so good at his job. But yeah, feel free to disagree with him if you like the movie.....

The girls are just too old for this though, what looks carefree and cute in your 30's can just look desperate in your 40's....

    Sarge

They haven't been girls for quite a while.

    They are almost munters now.

    ANOTSUSAGAMI

Sarah Jessica Parker has always been a munter. I can't understand what's supposed to be so sexy about her. She needs to eat a burger.

I find it both sad and cruel that these older women are being led along their own delusional paths for the entertainment of others. Would it not have been kinder either to find them roles that are more appropriate to their age or simply take them out and shoot them? As Susana York (no it wasn’t Jane Fonda) once said “They shoot horses don’t they?”

"Transvestite donkey witches"- Best comment of the day!

Is it too much to ask that this movie stays in the media for a few more months? Can't wait to see the Halloween costumes! Nixon's looking a bit like a Jack-O-Lantern in this pic :)

Do any of you out there know the expression "They look like mutton dressed as lamb" Well looking at those four women, I think that expression really fits.

Geeze, the men on this forum are really hating on the more mature women. We don't all stay 20 forever and I for one am glad. I look forward to ageing gracefully and hope that I can keep my shape as well as these ladies can. Why is it when women are older or of a 'certain age' they get shat upon but for men they're 'distiguished' or a 'rouge' or 'playboy'...pretty big double standard there gents.
