Shichi-Go-San

Kimono-clad girls and their mother pose for a photo during an annual Shichi-Go-San (七五三) festival at Hie Shrine in Tokyo on Saturday. Japanese families celebrate the traditional event by dressing up their children, only seven-year-old girls, five-year-old boys and three-year-old boys and girls, and visit shrines to celebrate children's growth and pray for their future well-being.

So cute. This is one of the better traditional customs/festivals in Japan in my mind.

Indeed! Taking such photos (and saying thank you) has always been one of my greatest pleasures.
