    I would guess it would work well if it was worn on your head. Panels seem to be aimed at the ground!

    These have been around a few years. Unfortunately, it takes 8+ hours of summer direct sunlight to charge enough for 10 minutes of cell use. There simply aren't enough amps.

    theFu: If what you're saying is true, then this product would probably be better off sold as an "emergency disaster kit" with other emergency products inside, as opposed to something for everyday use.

    Looking at the hanger, it is not heavy. For the theory of generating electricity by converting solar power, the producer has used lighter materials to build this innovative backpack. The carrier can re-charge batteries on-a-go anywhere and anytime under sunshine. For the global market marketing strategies, some countries in Africa or places where sunshine is on for a whole day, consumers can purchase this backpack. Vacationer or camper also use this useful and convenient backpack.

    Occupying one shoulder with solar equipment, convenient?

    Cargo is precious, on vacation, and a laptop with a solar panel, is not on my priority list.

    Paints, paper and brushes fits nicely...

    Geeks will be geeks.

    Note the slight curvature in the panel; looks like thin film, probably very light.

    It may not be so heavy, but it's cumbersome to carry around, and I imagine the price is out of reach of many.

    aybe it's the photo angle, but it looks more bulky than one would normally expect from a backpack. Will those cells expand with the size of the backpack when you put items in it and it deforms the shape?

    Good idea though.

    It is a really good idea, I agreed! Question: Would this panel generate a lot of heat which will cause the content in the nap sac overheat? Any thermal protection ?

    thefu, that is utter nonsense. The solar backpack from Voltaic offers 4 Watts of power and one hour in the sun will give you 3 hours of talk time on the phone.
