The US completely blew it when they let NASA rot and decided private contractors was the future. Now SpaceX rockets are blowing up in their face and the Russian rockets have failed 6 times in three years.

NASA has failed plenty but they've also done things no other agency had.

The Russian Soyuz manned rocket has never failed. true but Russia has many many failures of rockets prior to the Soyuz and with many loss of life. Russia like America have had the most time/experience in developing rockets 60+yrs and the trial and error associated with that. when Space X, Japan, EU eventually have similar R&D of there rockets theyll also become reliable enough for human transport.

And I think it's gonna be a long long time Till touch down brings me round again to find I'm not the man they think I am at home Oh no, no, no, I'm a rocket man Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone I'm a rocket man.
