Summit security? Empty Streets, No Public, Police only !
Moonraker
Shouldn't they have marched?
Lloyd Weems
¥60 billion, of which ¥34 billion is for security.

It seems that police officers are much more than residents and tourists. Hotels and inns are full of nasty police. No fun there during the Summit.

That many policemen, all walking closely together in the same direction, probably means it's shift-change time.

What a monumental waste in a massively debt ridden place......
*yes I know it!

Wow, it's exactly unusual scene at Ise-Shima...

These summits are supposed to usher in more business for the residents. It seems that the amount of taxes that are going to be spent for these bozos to patrol the streets will ofset ANY financial gain this summit will bring. That goes for the olympics too. So you have to ask yourself, why do they bother having these international events anyway.
The only real objective for these summits is to usher in a Orwellian state security system under Abe. I can't think of another good reason. The scary thing is: IF they are behaving like this NOW, what are they going to do when the Olympics get here? The amount of security then is going to be stifling.

Looks like Japan's finest are out to seek the blessing of the Shinto deities.

They look so out of place and disorderly.

Just watched the whole "bridge thing" on TV, you know that the summit is taking place under Abe when all the little children lined-up to supposedly welcome the world leaders are waiving a ton of Japanese flags and only 1 France, 1 US , 1 German, etc.. flag. Even in the organization of welcoming leaders LDP just cannot stop its nationalistic propaganda.

I sure hope they're not all like this because, I'm quite sure, no criminal is going to do what they plan do to in or around the very visible, very predictable grouped security patrol.

Feel sorry for Japan's police over one thing though - having to wear long sleeves in summer, and neckties to boot. No cool biz for these guys.
