You know I always wonder why so many men posters here like the J women. Including those ones above. What do you see in them? To me they're just some pin-looking women and if they were to live in my country they won't even smell that Swimsuit spokemodels title. Look at those moles all over the model's body....how could someone with such a body be selected to pose swimsuits...?!

  • 0

    1) ok they are real, Ill give you that. 2) Cute? you mean submissive and giggly, sort of like what women in the western world were expected to be like 30 years ago? 3) a rear? she doesnt even have a rear! she has no curves at all.

Very nice Picture of the Day. It is expected for most models to be stick thin. This isn't just a Japan thing. I don't particularly like the fact that models are always so adolescent looking but that is just the way it is. It seems to me that most Japanese prefer this look to the more volumptous and curvy look.

As for the post above stating that J-models are submissive and giggly - that's seems to be overly harsh. Japanese women are not all that submissive in relationships. Sure, most probably are not the in your face feminista Gloria Steinem types. However, J-girls are assertive in different and less confrontational ways than Western woman can be - generally speaking. You don't have to be Atilla the Hun to be assertive.

  • 0

    risingfro

Well obviously its all opinion based but you don't need a butt that sticks out like a bowling ball to look good. In fact I think westerners have become accustomed to seeing overweight/fake proportions. Nothing wrong with being skinny people, Japanese women have proved it through holding the longest life expectancy amongst developed nations. Will give you that about the submissiveness though :)

That swimsuit reminds me of a visit to the "modern" section of a Japanese furniture store ... stuck in the 1960's! I've seen more skin in Ginza on a hot August afternoon than I ever see on a Japanese beach!

Yep, but I wasnt talking about the majority of japanese women, i was talking about the models and 'tarentos'. In fact you changed that yourself starting to talk about japanese models and then moving on to japanese women. yes, I have first hand experience of the fact that your average japanese girl can be quite assertive when they want to be.

  • 0

    herefornow

risingfro ... fair enough. Although you must not believe in the old expression "You need a cushion for pushin." I just find nothing particularly "hot" about skinny women with no real shape -- especially ones modeling swim wear. Particularly since many of them are actually somewhat flabby relative to their size/weight, especially their upper arms, legs, and what butt they have. Give me a shapely, athletic gal over this anytime.

Very impressive. Don't you confuse them sometimes? Is your memory boundless or like a stack (last in first out) or like a queue (first in first out)?

I must admit though, it's better than remembering the names and vital statistics of anime women with huge busts dressed up in sailor uniforms. At least these girls are real.

A model, a beauty queen and spokemodels as such should have flawless skin,

Oh really? Then how has models such as Cindy Crawford get to be so popular, with such obvious moles on their faces. I've also seen runway models with freckles (of course, those Paris runway models are way too anorexic too).

  • 0

    seesaw

Hotbox08: mole on face makes a woman look sweet. But mole on the body and especially modelling for swimwear product..that's something else. Anyway, I guess you must be one of those J women fans so I rest my case.

  • 0

    fondofj

Moles are always have special effect on my mind. I like these beauty spots so much.

  • 0

    Hotbox08

mole on face makes a woman look sweet. But mole on the body and especially modelling for swimwear product..that's something else.

Wait a minute. We are obviously confusing the differences between a mole and a beaty spot. I would have to agree with you that a mole is slightly less appealing than a beauty spot. Upon closer inspection of the above picture, all I can see are a couple of beauty spots; NOT moles. A big difference if you ask me. But then again, you must be one of those who would never be satisfied with a woman unless she is absolutely perfect (which would mean no moles, beauty spots, freckles, etc.). I guess beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder.

  • 0

    Fadamor

A woman with no blemishes anywhere on her body only happens in manga and anime. Many of those "pristine" models you yearn for are employing judicious amounts of acting makeup to cover the blemishes.

    Ranger_Miffy

I swim a lot and most the women are wearing the most bland looking jobbers. I WISH more women wore suits like this. And, we need to bring back bathing caps that are cute, too. Even obasans would be better looking with more stellar suits and caps on. Those guys wearing really brief suits, though, don't have to change a thang IMHO! :-~

  • 0

    Hotbox08

I'm a professional at my job. And it involves selecting the perfect person for a specific job.

Well, you have every right to your opinion. As for me, I prefer that people like themselves for whom they are; imperfections or not. To me, true beauty runs deeper than the skin. At first glance, Nanao looks quite stunning to me, with or without her few beauty spots. Now if I got to know her and her character was also beautiful, then that would enhance her beauty even further. If she has a bitchy personality, then a bitch is a bitch is a bitch. End of story.

Another thing that makes a woman attractive is posture. Good posture, how they walk, and carry themselves goes a long way, IMHO.

  • 0

    seesaw

Hotbox08: Well, you could keep your opinions to yourself too. I made comments about a profession not on personal basis. Those women are not my friends and I do not intend to get to know them on a personal basis.

FYI: I'm here giving my personal comments that I'm entitled to. I'm not here trying to bitch or be bitchy about anything.

  • 0

    Hotbox08

FYI: I'm here giving my personal comments that I'm entitled to.

seesaw: Please read my post again. I've never said anything of the sort that your opinion is not welcomed. Here's what I said again.

Well, you have every right to your opinion.

In other words, your opinion is truly welcomed. Yet, don't try to make me believe in your opinion. However, I have as every right to my opinion on the subject of beauty as you do in yours. I guess it truly proves that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

BTW, if you are really commenting on Nanao in a professional sense, and if you are truly a professional, then explain to me how is it that you can confuse a mole and a beauty spot? Besides, you are judging on a picture which isn't all that of a good quality anyway. I'm just surprised that in this day and age that this photo hasn't been Photoshopped like 90% of model's photos are these days.

  • 0

    Hotbox08

    To add:

seesaw: Even if you were stating the needed perfection of a woman's skin as a prerequisite for being a beautiful model, then I would still be against that line of thinking. Perpetuating the myth that all models have to be skinny (bordering on anorexic), flawless, white-skinned, beings is just downright wrong. In my opinion, models can and should come in all shapes, colors, and sizes. Unfortunately, until we come to accept that, self-image problems, anorexia, bulimia, suicide, etc. amongst women and girls will continue to exist.

  • 0

Do you know what insulting some other guy's taste in women gets you? An argument, nothing more. So why bother? This girl is not my type because of her overly long spine and I don't like that sort of face. She is still cute in a way, just not for me. Stupid to bicker about it. Just be happy that potential competition does turn elsewhere.

To each their own. We all got bigger fish to fry.
